Notary

A notary is authorized to perform the following 10 actions:

  1. Perform signature verification (notarization) on each document.
  2. To confirm that the person signing a document, on behalf of another person, holds the power of attorney to do so.
  3. Confirm that a copy of a document is an accurate and correct copy.
  4. Confirm that the translation of a document is accurate and correct.
  5. Receive and confirm an affidavit.
  6. To confirm that the person is among the living.
  7. Confirm that the inventory list is correct.
  8. Edit the witness of a negotiable document.
  9. To draw up a document when its drawing up is required or permitted by law by a notary (such as a will).
  10. Use of the notary's authority under any other law (after obtaining an apostille certificate as necessary)
